Jo-Anne is a Provisional Psychologist currently completing her Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She brings a wealth of experience from the mental health sector, having worked across community mental health, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, intake and assessment services, and psychosocial support programs.
Prior to commencing her clinical psychology training, Jo-Anne worked in senior mental health coordination roles with Open Minds and the Primary Health Network, supporting individuals experiencing suicide-related distress, complex mental health concerns, and significant life challenges. She has extensive experience conducting risk assessments, safety planning, service navigation, psychoeducation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Jo-Anne has provided psychological support to clients across the lifespan with clients aged 6 to 63 years presenting with a range of psychological conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment difficulties, perfectionism, interpersonal challenges, and neurodevelopmental concerns. Through her university placements, she has gained experience delivering evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Internal Family Systems informed approaches. She has also completed cognitive assessments and psychological reports. Jo-Anne also has experience working within Queensland Health’s Perinatal Mental Health Specialised Services, where she collaborated with a multidisciplinary team supporting women experiencing mental health vulnerabilities during pregnancy and throughout the first year of parenthood. Her experience included psychological assessment, case formulation, brief intervention, risk assessment, psychoeducation, and referral coordination.
Jo-Anne is passionate about creating a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Jo-Anne is available for treatment and assessment services.
